How long does switching take?

Usually 30 to 60 days, from the day you apply to the day rent flows through Rentnest. You get an update at each milestone, so you always know where things are up to.

What do I actually need to do?

Tell us about your property, your tenant and your current agent, which takes under five minutes. Then sign the management agreement digitally. That is the last thing you need to do.

Do I need to tell my current agent?

No. Once you have signed, we review your existing agency contract and draft the termination notice on your behalf. From there, we handle every conversation with your old agent.

What if I'm locked into a contract?

Most management agreements have a notice period rather than a true lock-in. We review your specific contract and advise you on the exit process before you sign anything with us.

Will my tenant be affected?

Your lease stays exactly the same. Your tenant gets updated bank details and an introduction letter, plus a personal call from their new property manager.

What happens to my bond and rental ledger?

Bonds stay held with the relevant state authority, so nothing needs to transfer. We collect the keys, full rental ledger, condition reports and any maintenance history from your previous agent as part of the handover.

What if my properties are with different agencies?

We can transfer them all, either at once or staggered to match different notice periods. Everything ends up in one dashboard, with one manager.

Are there any fees to switch?

Rentnest charges nothing to switch. Your previous agency may have disbursement costs depending on your contract, which we will flag during the review so there are no surprises.

When does my loyalty rate start?

From the day we start managing each property. Every year it stays with us, your rate drops.
